The 85th anniversary of Holodomor will be honored at the official level in the state of Michigan

The Michigan State Senate issued a special document to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor, a report is published on the Facebook page of the U. S. Committee for Ukrainian Holodomor Genocide Awareness.

“Alive witnesses to the Holodomor and their families live in the state of Michigan, and they contribute to the cultural, economic, political and educational life of the state. Michigan residents value democratic values, human rights, the rule of law, and encourage respect for all cultures of different nationalities in the state of Michigan”, is written in the document.

In 2018, the Holodomor Victims’ Memory Day is on November 24.

Recall that the US Senate recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a genocide of the Ukrainian people.
