The Polish Sejm has declared Putin a war criminal

The Sejm of the Republic of Poland strongly condemns war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide committed on the territory of sovereign Ukraine by the armed forces of the Russian Federation. It is emphasized by the resolution adopted by Russia on the commission of war crimes in Ukraine. The document was adopted by acclamation, according to “Polish Radio.” The Presidium of the Seim has prepared a resolution on Russia’s committing war crimes and crimes against humanity and human rights violations in Ukraine.

 “Poland’s Sejm firmly condemns acts of long-term violence, war crimes, crimes against humanity, acts of genocide, systemic human rights violations and other criminal violations of international law, perpetrated on the territory of sovereign Ukraine by the armed forces of the Russian Federation and their allies, on the orders of military commanders under direct authority of President Vladimir Putin.”- the resolution reads.

“The Sejm of the Republic of Poland calls on all states that recognize the sovereignty, territorial integrity and right to self-determination of Ukraine to support by all means the initiation and conduct of trials in the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, and to use their powers in any international organizations they are aimed at bringing to justice Vladimir Putin, members of the Russian Security Council and commanders of the armed forces of the Russian Federation for war crimes, crimes against humanity, acts of genocide and systemic human rights violations committed in sovereign Ukraine, ” the resolution emphasized.

As noted, “publicly available evidence of these crimes proves the recognition of Vladimir Putin by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland and the international community as a war criminal.”

“The Sejm of the Republic of Poland appeals to the parliaments of democracies and the European Parliament to recognize Vladimir Putin, members of the Russian Security Council and commanders of the armed forces of the Russian Federation as persons directly responsible for these acts and impose the widest possible sanctions,” the resolution said. The Sejm also expressed unwavering solidarity with the free Ukrainian people and the democratic state of Ukraine. “

“Today, I can announce that, based on information currently available, the US government assesses that members of Russia’s forces have committed war crimes in Ukraine. Our assessment is based on a careful review of available information from public and intelligence sources,” said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
