Ukrainians of Australia joined the action "Let`s Light a Candle of Memory!"
On September 8 the international events, devoted to the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor-Genocide, were held at the 20th Congress of Teachers of the Ukrainian Central School Board of Australia, Stefan Romanov, the Chairman of the International Coordination Committee of the Holodomor, says.
The action was held in Melbourne. The candle of memory was lit by the descendants of witnesses and at the same time victims of the Holodomor. The teachers, who gathered at the Congress, condemned the victims of the Holodomor by a minute of silence. The teachers emphasized the importance of further studying the history of the Holodomor in Australian schools.
To recall, on September 7 Action “Let`s light a Candle of memory!” was held in Armenia and Mozambique.
Also, the action was held in Beijing.
The Ukrainian community in Jordan honored the victims of the Holodomor-Genocide.
On September 2, 2018, the International action “Let`s Light a Candle of Memory!” was held in Turkey.
On September 1, the action “Let`s light a Candle of Memory!” started at the National Museum “Holodomor Victims Memorial”.
