Educational classes at the Holodomor Museum are now available online!
This is a unique opportunity to visit the museum just from home, from your school or from anywhere in the world.
Training “In Search of Law” (for teenagers 10–14 years old)
During the lesson, the museum lecturer talks about modern human rights enshrined in international and national law, and helps children realize the dangers of indifference to discrimination and violations of freedoms.
At the training, the group also examines human rights violations during the Holodomor, the genocide of the Ukrainian nation. Knowledge about one of the greatest crimes in human history warns against its recurrence and calls for the preservation of Ukrainian statehood.
Interactive lesson “History of One Diary” (for students of grades 9–11)
During this class students work with sources of personal origin (diaries) and visual sources (photos), learn about the main aspects of the policy of the communist totalitarian regime (processes of collectivization and dekulakization) and the situation of Ukrainians in 1930–1933. years) through the prism of the memories of a teacher from Kharkiv region Oleksandra Radchenko.
Participants learn to analyze primary historical documents, think critically, form a personal attitude to history and understand its lessons, develop historical thinking.
Interactive lesson “Whai Is a Genocide?” (for students of grades 9–11)
During the lesson, students learn about the origin and meaning of the term “genocide”, the adoption of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, its initiator Rafael Lemkin and his views on the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian nation. At this lesson, students analyze the texts of decrees and orders of 1932–1933, which guided the perpetrators of the Holodomor, as well as watch video memoirs of Holodomor witnesses illustrating genocidal actions aimed at the extermination of Ukrainians.

Interactive lesson “How to distinguish between fake news and truth in the media” (for grades 10–11)
The lesson aims to develop a responsible attitude towards the dissemination of information and serious human rights violations. The lesson consists of two activities and a film view. Students work with original historical documents and media texts. In this way, they learn to read and understand historical materials, which helps them form their own attitudes and understanding of history.
The history of the Holodomor is a lesson in how, in a flood of official denials and journalistic deceptions, the murder of millions of Ukrainians went unnoticed by the world in the 1930s and for more than 50 years afterwards.
During the lesson, students will learn to decode propaganda in media texts, as well as understand the function of mass media in a democratic society and the value of freedom of speech.
Educational class the “Art” of Propaganda: Poster vs History”
The lesson is focused on analyzing one type of visual source, namely propaganda posters from the USSR in the late 1920s and early 1930s. It is useful for present-day teenagers, as it teaches them to analyze visual sources, compare information, and critically evaluate the ideas and messages that are imposed by propaganda.
All classes are avaliable in Ukrainian language only.
Each class lasts for 45 minutes.

How much does it cost?
The lessons cost UAH 20 per person; minimal number of people in the group is 5 people (when ordering classes for a smaller number of participants, payment is made for 5 people).
