International Action "Let's Light a Candle of Memory!" has been held in France.
The Embassy of Ukraine in France joined the commemoration of the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor-Genocide, is reported on the Facebook-page of the Embassy of Ukraine in France.
“France joined the World Action “Let’s Light a Candle of Memory!” to commemorate the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933. On October 13, in the city of Anna Yaroslavna, Sanlis, laying flowers to the memorial plaque to the Holodomor victims of 1932-33 was held. Also, the memorial service for the victims of the Holodomor in the church of St. Borys and Glib was done. Ambassador of Ukraine to France O. Shamshur and the Head of the Representative Committee of the Ukrainian Community of France T. Gorishny spoke to the participants of the event. In the framework of the action, there was a lighting of candles of memory and reading out the names of the children, who became the victims of the Holodomor”, the report said.
Recall, that in 2017 in Paris, events dedicated to commemorating the victims of the Holodomor took place with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine on European and Euro-Atlantic integration Ivanna Klimpush-Tsentsadze, President of the World Congress of Ukrainians Eugene Czolii and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to France Oleg Shamshur.
On September 1, the action “Let’s Light a Candle of Memory!” began at the National Museum “Holodomor Victims Memorial”.
